Tas Yapi Concept Development Video
Commissioned as the headquarters for Taşyapı, this project occupies a 195 m² urban plot in Karabük. The six-story structure, including a basement level, is programmed for versatility: the upper two floors serve administrative functions, while the remaining levels are designed for diverse commercial uses, including retail, dining, and office spaces. The architectural concept is a direct interpretation of the company’s name, 'Taş' (Stone). Drawing inspiration from the monumental stone masonry of ancient civilizations—specifically pyramidal and monolithic forms—the building is conceived as a modern monument. Its massing features a contemporary pyramid-like geometry, establishing a bold and recognizable urban identity. The facade further reinforces this concept through a cubic grid of solid and void surfaces. This rhythmic composition references the tectonic weight of stone while integrating glass elements for transparency. The result is a 'stone monument' that bridges ancient monumentalism with a sophisticated, contemporary architectural language.
