Scope of Work
At the Karabük University – TOBB Technical Sciences Vocational School campus, water leakage problems were identified at the upper-level connection bridges linking three buildings. Following on-site investigation, it was determined that the existing aluminium composite roof system lacked proper insulation and proper roof build-up layers. Instead of a complete reconstruction, a cost-efficient solution was developed by installing a new trapezoidal metal roof cladding system over the existing structure, incorporating improved waterproofing details. In addition, a custom-designed gutter detail — engineered specifically for this project and fabricated locally — was implemented to redirect rainwater away from the bridge surfaces and ensure long-term performance and durability.
♦ Site inspection and analysis of water leakage problems in inter-building bridge roofs ♦ Partial dismantling of existing aluminium composite cladding to identify construction deficiencies ♦ Identification of missing or improperly installed insulation and roof build-up layers ♦ Development of a cost-efficient technical solution avoiding full structural reconstruction ♦ Design and installation of a new trapezoidal metal roof cladding system over the existing structure ♦ Integration of waterproofing layers and improved roof detailing ♦ Design, engineering and fabrication of a custom gutter system to divert rainwater away from bridge surfaces ♦ Adaptation and on-site installation of a project-specific drainage detail ♦ On-site coordination and supervision of implementation works
