Scope of Work
The broader ambition of the project extends beyond architecture into urban regeneration. The proposal was prepared for three housing cooperatives representing nearly 200 members, many of whom originated from traditional cooperative housing environments characterized by strong neighborhood interaction.
Instead of prioritizing formal aesthetics, the design focused on preserving social continuity and reinterpreting community culture within a contemporary urban framework. By organizing buildings around a central courtyard and integrating recreational areas, pedestrian paths, gazebos, and social gathering points, the masterplan reactivates the idea of shared outdoor life.
The project demonstrates that density, green infrastructure, commercial vitality, and social cohesion can coexist. Rather than becoming another isolated housing cluster within a rapidly concretizing city, the development aims to contribute positively to Karabük’s urban silhouette while strengthening the social fabric at ground level.
